Notes: Walter is a project. He played mostly in the outfield in college, but the Jays liked his arm. He will likely develop slowly. His command was understandably spotty in his debut, although batters had trouble making solid contact. Although he did not allow a hit to a left-handed batter, Walter walked four batters in two accumulative innings of work against left-handers. Walter pitched better with runners in scoring position than with the bases empty, suggesting he might have the make-up to be a successful late-inning reliever.
